Pest Control Service in Whampoa – NEA-Certified, 4.9★, Since 2012

Targeted solutions for every pest. Licensed by NEA and BCA. Singapore’s only PRTRG-certified company.

Why Whampoa Needs a Targeted Pest Control Plan

Whampoa is one of Singapore’s most densely settled residential districts, a mix of mature HDB estates, active hawker centres, and shophouse clusters along Whampoa Drive that create ideal breeding conditions for the full range of urban pests. From cockroaches around Whampoa Drive Makan Place to termites in older timber door frames, pests here are persistent, varied, and require species-accurate treatment to eliminate.

Termite Specialist Pte Ltd uses Integrated Pest Management (IPM) the same methodology endorsed by the National Environment Agency to address infestations at source.

For a complete overview of every pest we treat across Singapore, see our pest control services in Singapore page.

About Termite Specialist Pte Ltd

Termite Specialist Pte Ltd is Singapore’s only pest control company certified by the Pacific Rim Termite Research Group (PRTRG) an international termite science network affiliated with Kyoto University, Japan, and CSIRO Australia. We are NEA and BCA licensed, Singapore Pest Management Association (SPMA) members, and have operated since 2012.

Common Pest Problems in Whampoa

Whampoa’s combination of food centres, older HDB infrastructure (many blocks built in the 1970s and 1980s), and high population density makes it one of Singapore’s higher-risk pest zones. These are the most common infestations we treat in the area:

  • Cockroaches: the most frequent call from Whampoa. German and American cockroaches thrive in the warm, food-rich environment near hawker stalls, bin chutes, and kitchen areas. See our cockroach pest control service.
  • Termites: older HDB blocks with original timber door frames, parquet floors, and built-in woodwork are particularly vulnerable. Early detection prevents costly structural repairs. See our termite control Singapore service.
  • Rodents: rats and mice are drawn by food waste near Whampoa’s food centres and waste collection points. Once inside a building, they travel through pipe ducts and void decks. See our rodent control service.
  • Mosquitoes: ageing drains, uncovered gutters, and ground-floor bin areas create Aedes mosquito breeding grounds. Dengue clusters in the Central Region make this a year-round priority. See our mosquito control Singapore service.
  • Bed Bugs: high-density HDB living allows bed bugs to spread between adjacent units through wall cavities and shared lift lobbies. See our bed bug extermination service.
  • Ants: Ghost and Pharaoh ants trail through electrical conduits from adjacent units. Fire ants are a risk in lower-floor and void deck areas. See our ant pest control service.
  • Booklice: a persistent issue in Whampoa’s older units with wall moisture, and in recently renovated units with residual construction humidity. See our booklice treatment service.

Termite Control in Whampoa

Whampoa’s mature HDB estates contain original timber fixtures that were not protected by pre-construction soil treatment. This makes them among the highest-risk properties for termite infestation in Singapore’s Central Region.

We always begin with a free termite inspection using thermal imaging to detect live activity in walls, floors, and ceiling voids without drilling, without disruption, and at no charge if no infestation is found.

Termite Corrective Treatment

For active infestations in landed properties or units where a chemical barrier is required, our corrective treatment injects termiticide through holes drilled at 1.5–2 foot intervals around the building perimeter. The odourless, tasteless termiticide is undetectable to termites until the colony collapses. Suitable for HDB landed flats, terrace houses, and semi-detached properties.

Termite Soil Treatment

For properties under renovation or BTO units receiving structural upgrades, termite soil treatment treats the ground before new concrete is laid. A hydraulic spray applies termiticide to the soil, which is then sealed under a black polyethylene sheet. Provides long-term structural protection from subterranean termite entry.

Termite Baiting System

The most effective long-term solution for subterranean termites. In-ground stations are placed at strategic points around the property. Worker termites carry a slow-acting bait back to the colony it is passed through grooming and feeding behaviour, eventually reaching and eliminating the queen. The entire colony collapses within 4–12 weeks.

Cockroach Pest Control in Whampoa

Cockroaches are the most common residential pest complaint we receive from Whampoa. The proximity to Whampoa Food Centre, Whampoa Drive Makan Place, and the estate’s network of coffee shops means food residue accumulates in drains, bin chutes, and kitchen fixtures throughout the area.

Our cockroach pest control programme uses a gel bait system applied precisely to harborage points — under sinks, behind refrigerators, inside drain covers, and along skirting boards. No spray, no odour, no need to vacate the unit.

Rodent Control in Whampoa

Rats and mice around Whampoa’s food centres and hawker stalls follow established trail routes into residential blocks — through bin chute rooms, gaps around water pipes, and void deck access points. Once inside a building, they nest in wall cavities, false ceilings, and kitchen cabinet bases.

Our rodent control combines structural exclusion sealing entry points identified during inspection, snap and glue trapping at active zones, and thermal imaging to locate activity in inaccessible areas.

Mosquito Control in Whampoa

Whampoa’s older estate infrastructure ageing open drains, uncovered roof gutters, void deck planters, and ground-floor bin areas, creates multiple Aedes mosquito breeding sites within a small geographic radius. The Central Region has been one of Singapore’s consistently active dengue zones.

Our mosquito control service eliminates existing adult populations using ULV thermal fogging and residual spray, while destroying larvae at known breeding sites.

Ant Pest Control in Whampoa

Ghost ants and Pharaoh ants are the most common ant species in Whampoa’s HDB units, typically trailing in through electrical conduits and gaps around water pipes from adjacent units or external vegetation. Fire ants are a risk in lower-floor units, void deck gardens, and landscaped common areas.

Our ant pest control uses species-specific gel bait applied to active trails and harborage points.

Why Whampoa Residents Choose Termite Specialist

  • Singapore’s only PRTRG-certified company:  the Pacific Rim Termite Research Group is an international network founded by Kyoto University. Our treatment methods are validated against current international termite research, not industry tradition from a decade ago.
  • NEA and BCA licensed since 2012:  not all pest control companies hold both licences. BCA certification is required for termite work on BCA-registered buildings. We hold both.
  • SPMA member:  Singapore Pest Management Association professional membership, held to industry code of conduct.
  • 4.9★ from 204 verified reviews:  across Google Maps. Every review reflects a completed, documented treatment.
  • Species-accurate identification: a German Cockroach requires a different treatment protocol from an American Cockroach. We identify the exact species before selecting the treatment method.
  • 14-day free callback:  every residential treatment includes a return visit at no charge if pests are observed within 14 days of treatment.
  • Signed service report on every visit:  documents zones treated, products used, pest activity observed, and technician details. Formatted for NEA, SFA, and ISO audits where required.
